Looking for a Conservation Project Manager to join Mar Futura
Position Objective : The Conservation Project Manager will be responsible for collaborating and assisting in all stages of project development at Mar Futura. This includes administrative and operational management, as well as the collection, organization, and analysis of scientific and technical data. Additionally, they will play a key role in identifying new funding opportunities, actively collaborating in the formulation of proposals that strengthen and expand the foundation's impact. This individual will have a varied and challenging role, participating in a variety of projects with real impact.
Requirements
1. Academic qualifications: Ideally, a professional degree in conservation, marine biology, ecology, environmental sciences, geography, data science, or related fields is preferred, but we are open to other professional profiles.
2. Experience:
- 3 to 5 years in conservation, biodiversity, or applied science project management.
- Ideally, experience in coordinating interdisciplinary initiatives or technological innovation in environmental contexts.
3. Knowledge and skills:
- Ability to search, compile, curate, and organize scientific and technical databases, including spatial, environmental, and biodiversity data.
- Familiarity with relevant data formats and platforms (Excel, QGIS, R, Python, Google Earth Engine, or others).
- Good command of project management tools (schedules, budgets, participatory planning).
- Strong communication and writing skills in Spanish. Intermediate or advanced English is a plus.
4. Others:
- Own car is highly valued
- Experience in diving or sailing is highly valued
Main Tasks
- Lead comprehensive project management: planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Support the search, systematization, and analysis of environmental, ecological, and geospatial databases relevant to ongoing projects.
- Coordinate with national and international partners to obtain scientific information, ensuring its quality, relevance, and up-to-dateness.
- Generate inputs and reports based on data analysis that contribute to conservation decision-making.
- Participate in co-design processes for technological solutions, supporting the definition of requirements and validation of functionalities.
- Conduct presentations, technical and progress reports for donors and partners.
- Support the formulation of new project proposals and the identification of financing opportunities.
- Collaborate in monitoring and impact evaluation processes for interventions.
- Contribute to the documentation, systematization and dissemination of learning.

- Salary: $1,650,000 - $2,000,000 CLP gross monthly (depending on experience)
